Kadampa Meditation Centre Montréal (KMC Montréal), is the Mother Centre of the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT) in Quebec. The Centre is a non-profit organization established to provide people in the Montreal area with the opportunity to learn about and practice Buddha’s teachings and learn concrete solutions to solve our modern problems. The aim of the Centre is to create a space to practice and integrate this timeless wisdom, and learn about the Buddhist’s way of life. To fulfill this aim we have created a peaceful city sanctuary located in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal district on Laurier street.
In English, the Centre currently offers weekly introduction to meditation courses as well as twice weekly chanted prayers (schedule subject to change). In French, retreats and more in-depth study is available, including the 3 study programs offered by the New Kadampa Tradition.
The daily running of the Centre is primarily the work of volunteers who are themselves dedicated practitioners. The Centre offers a warm and welcoming community and there is always someone on hand to answer your questions.
In addition to the beautiful meditation room, you can also enjoy our bookstore and gift shop, or just spend time in our comfortable sitting and reading area. (Reference materials are available.)
